TIME Brings Conversational AI to Journalism
Build a deeper understanding through 1:1 conversations
We’re adding audio to Air Mail magazine, so readers can follow it anywhere
We’ve joined forces with Air Mail, the digital weekly founded by Graydon Carter, former Vanity Fair editor. Starting this week, selected stories are available in audio, powered by ElevenLabs Text to Speech.
Readers can listen directly on the Air Mail’s website, making it easier to keep up with its world-class journalism while commuting, exercising, or walking.
“We’re known for delivering smart, well-edited writing to a global audience,” said Editor-in-Chief Alessandra Stanley. “This gives voice - quite literally - to those stories, so readers can listen in the car, at the gym, or on a walk.”
“They represent some of the best in modern editorial content,” said Mati Staniszewski, co-founder of ElevenLabs. “We’re helping bring their stories to life with audio, wherever and however people prefer to follow them.”
With audio integrated into story pages and email newsletters, readers can move between reading and listening without breaking the thread. The feature is live across:
It’s part of a wider shift toward high-quality, voice-first experiences in publishing - not just as a convenience, but as a way to make good writing and information easier to keep up with in everyday life.
